Casa Mariposa perches in a quiet environment on a hill in our 3.5-ha property of Quinta da Murteira. Located inside of a natural reserve, we are isolated and hidden in the end of 1.5 km dirt track, which is branched out from the national road (N270). Hence we are in tranquil nature yet it's accessible to nearby towns and touristic attractions;
good local products, gas station and car wash ( Santa Catarina) - 10 minutes
major supermarkets ( Sao Bras) - 15 minutes
the lagoon and the access to the beaches, all city gadgets and museums ( historic town of Tavira) - 25 minutes
Faro airport - 35 minutes
Spanish border(40 km) - 40 minutes, and Seville(180 km) - 2 hours
Since we are centrally located in eastern Algarve, you are at the good starting point to discover Southern Portugal. There are well-organized walking trails, and also several golf courses are available in this region.

The weather is mostly sunny throughout the year. Enjoy your day by lounging by the swimming pool, or hiking and birdwatching in the surrounding environment. Starwatching is also one of the delights in Quinta da Murteira. For your outdoor activities, we suggest bringing a good pair of walking shoes and a pair of binoculars. A mountainbike is a good option if your visit is between autumn and spring.

Have your own time in your own space. Except occasional roaring from passing airplanes or neighbor's tractor, our hillside is in peaceful tranquility.
Casa Mariposa is composed of two individual rooms. You will be the only residents either occupancy of one room or two. Each room accommodates two people. (note: If your party is total two people, and need both rooms, additional charge will be asked)

Both rooms are equipped with: shower and WC, fridge, air conditioning, patio, cloth line, and heating.
